Hidden, Invisible, Non-Visible? Let’s Talk Terminology

Hi everyone,
Language is incredibly personal, especially when it comes to how we talk about disability.
One topic that comes up often in my work, and something I get asked about all the time, is the preferred terminology for disabilities that aren’t immediately apparent to others.
For example, the Sunflower Scheme uses the term “hidden disabilities”, but I know that doesn’t feel right for everyone. Others might use words like invisible, non-visible, or non apparent.
I’d love to hear what language you personally prefer, and if you’re comfortable, why that choice feels meaningful to you.
I do have my own preferences, but I’m always learning and really value the perspectives of this community.
Thanks in advance for sharing! Jonathan
