Over 212,000 face waits for autism assessment in the UK

The wait is too long. The government need to look in to this and reduce the rate. The assessment is often essential for people to get the support they need in education, at home or work. These long waiting times are also causing a number of private online assessment to arise creating a 2 tier system.
As of December 2024, 212,964 people were waiting for an autism assessment in England, latestNHS datahas revealed.
This is a 23% increase in the number of people waiting in just one year, and a 82% increase from this point two years ago.
