My husband and I, both powered wheelchair users fly a lot; in the last few months, we have noticed a lot of powered wheelchair users on social media having issues with airlines and airports not understanding the regulations and requirements related to supporting wheelchair-using customers and transporting powered wheelchairs.

So my husband has written a guide to air travel with a power chair. It's pretty long but he's done a top 10 tips at the beginning.

What's your experience of flying with a wheelchair?

Is there anything that you want to know or are worried about when it comes to flying with your chair?

thanks for your blog, I fly once a year to Majorca, and the staff are very good there with my wheelchair. However, at the UK airport, I have to tell them what to do with my power chair, essentially that to meet me at the plane with my chair and not take it to excess baggage! Excess baggage has steps which of course my chair can’t manage and neither can I!
